Light overcomes darkness.
You are not alone.

Magdalene House Chicago, Inc. (MHC) is a home and enterprise for positive, personal change for women survivors of sex trafficking, prostitution, and addiction in the Chicagoland area. For women survivors, MHC promises the flexibility, advocacy, and humanity they need to heal and become leaders through its residential program, Find Your Way Home, and justice social enterprise, Off The Streets.

Our Mission

______________________

Magdalene House Chicago, MHC, was founded in 2015 by a group of dedicated women in the Chicagoland area. Inspired by the successful stories of healing and transformation that came out of Thistle Farm’s Magdalene House in Nashville, these women pledged to bring the same hope to women survivors of sex trafficking living in Chicago. In August 2016, Magdalene House Chicago, Inc. was officially incorporated as an independent nonprofit. In early 2018, MHC’s Board began a strategic planning process to help guide its growth.

Inspired by these principles, MHC dedicated itself to helping women survivors recover by providing safe housing, case management, education and employment for two years - free of charge. With open doors and hearts, MHC began welcoming their first women survivors to a home and community of healing in 2022. Throughout the Magdalene House Chicago residential program, Find Your Way Home, and justice social enterprise, Off The Streets, there is the belief that love is the most powerful force for change in the world.

Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy. That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody’s business. What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy.

- Thomas Merton
